Many bruises

Last weekend Andy and I went to visit our friend Patrick in Parkersburg West Virginia. On Saturday we all went skiing at Wisp ski resort on the western tip of Maryland. Andy and Patrick are both vetrans on the snowy slopes, but I however, am not. I decided to take a lesson so that Andy and Patrick wouldn't have to wait up on me all the time. At first I thought it would be 26 year old me with all the 10 year olds. Much to my surprise, there were quite a few adults also taking lessons so the group was split into children and adults. The experience was fun, but I didn't realize when you ski, you use EVERY single muscle in your body so I was very very sore the next few days. I also managed to get bruises through many layers of clothing and snow pants which is wierd, but they are still around.

Here are some pictures of me on the MONSTER hill where I learned how to ski. I am holding my poles in front of my because the instructor told me too. He said I just flailed the poles around and I guess that doesn't help you stay upright.

Next, is a picture or Patrick on top of the mountain that I never made it up. I stayed on the bunny hill where there was a "magic carpet" that was like an escalator that took you up a tiny hill. I wasn't quite ready for the chair lift. Isn't that a beautiful view?

By the way, Patrick is famous. He is the morning anchor for the Parkersburg news. You could call him their local hero!

Unfortunately there are no pictures of Andy. He always ends up taking all the pictures because he is so good at it, so there aren't very many of him. Hopefully we'll get some up of him in the near future!

Crazy New Year's Eve Photos

New Year's Eve in Knoxville, Tennessee. Could it get any better than that?

Where's Voldo?

Saturday was the big basketball game: Ohio State vs. University of Tennessee. It was in Columbus. Remember those Where's Waldo books? You can play a similar game with the picture below. (note: there may be more than one Voldo... barely.)

There are a few out there.

But wait - what's this . . . something orange!!!!

Who could that be?

That's right - Andy and I decided to brave the scarlett and grey crazos to cheer for the Volunteers. The seats were in the student section behind the basket, which is known as the "nuthouse". I think we confused some people when we sat there with our orange and white. UT ended up losing by 2 points in the last few seconds, but it was a great game to watch in person.

Christmas 2006

Here are some pictures from Christmas! We went to both Allen Park and Knoxville, so it was a busy trip. Unfortunately, we didn't take any pictures in Allen Park, but fortunately Andy's sister took a bunch, so here are some from Tennessee. New Years Eve pics will follow in a few days.

Here is Julie and Karey's gag gift from Andy's parents.

The next pictures are of people making omlettes in a plastic bag. It was a new experience for everyone. If you want the recipe, just call, we'll send it to you. Mmmmmmmmmm.

We got the chance to hang out with Ian and Jason, two of Andy's best friends from L.A. and Denver respectively. This picture is of them posing for the camera at a great steak restaurant in Townsend Tennessee. Look at those Devil eyes.

Lastly, we would like to thank everyone that we were able to share Christmas with for making it an enjoyable holiday. It was great to be able to visit with so many people. For those of you we weren't able to see, we'll make up for lost time soon enough!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
